Ken Hann explores effective monitoring for timing networks at ITSF 2023
Talk will explain why scrutinizing the accuracy of GNSS receivers is crucial to safeguarding time-sensitive critical infrastructure
- Speakers: Ken Hann, senior director of R&D at Oscilloquartz, Adtran
- Topics: High time for monitoring networks
- When: Wednesday, November 1, 2:05 p.m. CET
- Where: ITSF 2023, Hilton Antwerp Old Town, Antwerp, Belgium
In many systems poor timing performance can result in expensive failures. This is true for financial systems, communications, healthcare, defense and many other domains. Monitoring timing performance alerts us to a range of pending issues, from reduced user experience to catastrophic system failures.
In this session, Ken Hann will advocate that effective monitoring begins with scrutinizing endpoints, emphasizing the importance of GNSS receivers. Monitoring also needs to be scalable to cover large multi-vendor networks. ITSF delegates will gain insights into various monitoring tools, specifically scripts for data collection, algorithms for processing alarms and visualization techniques to aid in comprehending data dynamics. Register now for the event beginning October 30.
